After all the parties and over-eating this long weekend, you probably feel a bit bloated and sluggish. That’s why we’re sharing actionable tips to help you reset after a long weekend. Skip the guilt about that extra drink or sweet treat, and focus on how to get back on track! Start by drinking lots of water, and follow these tips…
Reset your Sleep Schedule
You tend to eat more junk and work out less when you’re tired, so allow yourself to get back on track with early bedtimes and a good night’s rest. Getting 7+ hours of rest is vital to getting your body back on track and waking up feeling refreshed.
Don’t Cut Calories
You want to keep your metabolism going, so don’t skip breakfast! Fuel up throughout the day with raw fruit and veggies, lean protein, and complex carbs. Start your morning with a green juice or smoothie, and continue hydrating with water. Flushing out the toxins of the weekend will reduce bloat and get you feeling back to normal.
If you’re going back to work try making a big batch of smoothies the night before, and freezing them in single-serving, sealed containers. You can take one out the night before, or morning of, let it defrost, and be set with a healthy breakfast for the remainder of the week!
Foods like bananas and melon are the perfect detox snacks. Melon is filled with water to assist with hydration, and bananas are filled with potassium which reduces bloat by flushing out sodium. Other foods rich in potassium are yogurt and raisins. Snacking on vegetables, fruits, nuts and legumes are high-fibre, healthy choices.
Reduce the Things you Overdid
You likely ate too much sugar or drank too much over the long weekend, so cut down on those as much as possible. Avoid artificial sweeteners in your coffee or doughnuts in the break room. If you’re craving something sweet, try fresh fruit, dates, or a square of dark chocolate. If you’re going to drink, stick to one or two, and choose drinks like wine, dry cider, or clear spirits with a low sugar mix, like a vodka soda.
Get Back to your Exercise Goals
Ease into your exercise routine, as you don’t want to launch into an extreme workout that might leave you injured. Start small with a walk outside, and on day two get back to it with a spin or hot yoga class. Sweating it out will leave you feeling energized for your next workout, while ridding you body of those long weekend toxins.
Allowing for yourself to enjoy is important but making sure it doesn’t ruin your whole week, or even month, is crucial. So follow these tips to get you back on your feet and feeling great again in no time.

Flexible work has become a hot topic, as more people are trying to find work-life balance. Employees are requesting flexible work options to have more time for themselves, the things they enjoy and the people they love.
Whether you’re a mother that wants to pick up your child, someone that is sick of sitting in rush hour traffic for two hours, or someone who desires to experience new places and people, flexible work is what you want.
Women especially value flexibility.
In a world and workforce that was created by men and for men, women are striving to find a way to live how they want.
Whether it’s because they are fed up with toxic office environments, don’t resonate with the 9-5 work structure, or have a penchant for travel and autonomy, more and more women aspire to create alternative frameworks in which they can thrive on their own terms.
This notion of seeking more and trying to live outside the box is something many women have dreamt of but few have pursued. Fear of the unknown, change, risk, danger, failing or even fear of succeeding and loving it too much, all hold us back.

We are always, and instantly, connected, wherever the wifi might be.

What’s more are the benefits this lifestyle can have on your work that you won’t truly realize until you’ve done it.
You’ll feel more inspired by your new environments, more creative and more productive. You’re no longer distracted by office conversations, unnecessary meetings, loud coworkers (or barista’s if you’re a coffee shop working kinda gal). You’ll feel refreshed and invigorated by the new sensations and sights around you.

To design your day; today, tomorrow, next week, month, etc. You can work on your passion projects or you can pour your reinvigorated heart into your work.
Don’t get me wrong though, this is not a vacation.
It is a lifestyle. An actual, sustainable, possible lifestyle. One that you will have to work at achieving and maintaining.
The reality is, you will still have the problems you had at home. There will still be bad days, laundry and work to be done.
But that’s the point. Not to run away from your life, but to design your life. The way you want it.
So try this: write out your ideal day. What it looks like, what you do, what it’s filled with. Where in the world are you? Where do you want to be?
Write down what you want your day and lifestyle to look like. There you’ll have it.
Today, post-secondary education is very common, and many millennials look for work right after graduation. So what sets apart a great employee, from the others? One thing is almost guaranteed: travel. This applies to everyone, but even more so, for women. Women who travel make better employees because, these women bring valuable skills they gained while traveling, to the workplace.
Here’s why women who travel make the best employees:
They’re the best problem solvers.
Women who travel, especially alone, develop the ability to solve any problem they encounter. When in a country where you don’t speak the language, navigating can be intimidating, but it’s something travellers are used to. Trains are closed for the day? They’ll find a bus. Arriving in a city late at night? They’ll research the quickest way to reach their accommodation safely. They’ve come to realize any problem can be solved with some quick thinking, and they’ll bring this to your team.
They’re independent and confident.
It takes a woman with these qualities to leave their comfort zone, and once they go, these traits strengthen. There is nothing more empowering than navigating through a country on your own, knowing you can take on whatever comes your way. When they’re back in the office, they have the confidence to take on tasks with little direction, self-motivate, and self-start, all extremely valuable qualities in an employee.
They’re good with people.
Part of traveling is meeting people, whether it’s locals or fellow travellers, and women who travel develop excellent interpersonal skills. When women first start travelling alone, it can be very intimidating to talk to people they don’t know. But it quickly becomes natural, and employers will likely notice female travellers ease quickly into the interview process, because talking to someone new is common for them. This translates into their work, making them good communicators and a great team member.
They’re eager to learn.
Travellers are curious about the world, and looking to gain knowledge of a culture other than their own. This open-mindedness allows them to absorb new information, and search for new ways to learn whenever they can. These women never want to be bored, and are always looking to be engaged. When they’re on your team, you can count on them to look for a different perspective and a challenge.
Women who travel make excellent employees, who are ready to rise to a challenge and self-manage. Like all millennials, female travellers are looking for flexibility in the workplace , so employers need to work to retain them. Hiring quality employees who have gained these valuable skills will create a strong, dynamic team that can work together to drive your organization forward.
